nVidia 3D solution for DLP–WOW!

So most Mits and Samsung DLP TVs made in the last 2-3 years should have the "HDTV VESA sync port" required for this.
Now nVidia is getting back into 3D in a big way:

If you’ve been watching nVidia for a while on 3D, they are very keen on partnerships that exclude non-preferred manufacturers, but I don’t see any way they could prevent any Samsung 3D enabled DLP to work any different than the Mits DLPs they are endorsing. Anybody have any thoughts on that?
