Speaker Ideas for my HT

I have been building a home theater for the last 6 months or so and am getting ready to order speakers. I’ve been reading all I can but must admit to really being a novice in this area.

My HT is 15 x 18 and is in the downstairs. It’s fully insulated, but I did not use RISC clips or GG. I have a stage and riser which will give me two rows of seats. There is an insulated door to the room, however I have an open arch window in the back of the room which is about 6 feet wide and 3 feet in height. I know this will allow noise to escape but it was a compromise with the wife.

If it matters I used Monoprice wire which is 14AWG CL2 Rated 4-Conductor Loud Speaker Cable (For In-Wall Installation)

I am looking to get a 7.1 setup and would like to keep it around $2500. I would like towers for the fronts and was looking at some bipoles for the surrounds and just basic small bookshelves for the rear.

These speakers will be used for 100% movies, tv, sports - NO music (unless its in the soundtrack of course). I have a new Panny3000 projector, 110 inch screen, and Sony 350 bluray. Currently my receiver/amp is a Onkyo 504b, which is 7×75W. I plan to replace this next summer so I’ll only have it running this setup for 1 year or so.

I have one odd requirement, I would like the side surrounds to not be tooo deep. I dont care if they are wide, but I dont want the column containing them to stick out too far.

Based upon what I’ve read in here I’ve narrowed it down to Aperion, Energy, Klipsch, and Polk. I have a horrible ear for sound, so I’m using reviews and what I can find online for my guidance. I tend to prefer some of the direct companies that give you 30 day trials and trade up options.

Right now I’m leaning to Aperions with the 5C, 4Ts, 4BP Bipole surround, 4B rear, and 8D sub. That comes in around $2160.

I’m open to any feedback or suggestions, please let me know if I didnt provide enough information. So far everything I’ve built or bought has come from advice on AVS !
